On April 6 and 7, 2019, the field observation and 2018 annual review meeting of national key R&D project “the R&D and demonstration of micromolecule pesticides and formulations with high efficiency and low risk (serial number 2018YFD0200100 )” was held in Nanjing Arcadia International Hotel in Jiangsu Province. The meeting summarized the annual work of 2018, reviewed and accepted the field demonstration effect of patent compound Cypyrafluone（环吡氟草酮） created by Kingagroot controlling resistant alopecurus aequalis.

This project is presided over by academician Song Bao’an, the president of Guizhou University, aiming to solve practical problems like variety and formulation aging and increasing resistance of disease, pest and weed control agents in the main crops of China, lack of alternative micromolecular pesticides and new formulations, etc. Taking pests such as main vegetable virus diseases, resistant weed alopecurus aequalis and rice planthoppers as study object, this project conducts R&D and demonstrations for micromolecular pesticides with high efficiency and low risk.
With 6 academicians Luo Xiwen, Qian Xuhong, Chen Jianping, Kang Zhensheng, Song Bao’an and Li Zhengming as leaders, and more than 110 participants including government leaders like sectary Wei Qiwen from National Agricultural Technology Extension Center and researcher Wang Jianqiang from Department of Crop Production, MOA as well as experts and scholars in famous colleges and universities like researcher Zhou Wei from division of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and professor Duan Liusheng from China Agricultural University, etc., the specification of this appraisal meeting is unprecedented.

With academician Luo Xiwen as chairman of committee, academicians Qian Xuhong, Chen Jianping and Kang Zhensheng as vice Chairman of committee and other 10 famous specialists and scholars in the expert committee, the herbicide Cypyrafluone（环吡氟草酮） created by Kingagroot was highly praised. They all agreed that the creation and application of Cypyrafluone（环吡氟草酮） is the first case of HPPD inhibitor used to control grassy weeds in wheat fields all over the world. With no cross resistance with main herbicides now used in wheat fields, such as ALS inhibitors like mesosulfuron and pyroxsulam, and ACCase inhibitors like clodinafop-propargyl, pinoxaden and fenoxaprop-p-ethyl, this herbicide became a brand new agent for noxious weed control. Cypyrafluone（环吡氟草酮） has fully accomplished the research contents specified in the project subject mandate and well achieved the anticipated goal.
